usually i’m more of an airbnb girlie when traveling. that said, i love a good hotel when done right. this is a list of my favorite hotels — nothing thaaat fancy or stuffy, just really cool, thoughtful places to stay awhile next time you have the itch to travel with no destination in mind. bonus points for having the following: pool, bar / space to hang, welcome drinks, complimentary breakfast moment (i’m not talking marriott/hilton watery eggs and tiny cereal boxes) and obviously a cozy hotel robe.

la openings + happenings:
sogo highland park - sogo’s much needed second location comes to highland park, where holcomb once was giving the neighborhood some much needed sushi
all time / grandpa’s first + third thursdays - sip wine, eat olives and listen to records on a thursday in what would be one of la’s best wine bars
mariscos la negra - a mariscos truck parked next to el ruso (same fam) in echo park
sweetgreen x cote - not new-new but this collab is worth getting before it disappears. i ordered the korean bbq bowl sub steak for tofu and have no regrets
good boy & friends - june 28 in arts district — i’ll be out of town this year :/ but have been to the past few and let’s just say good boy wine (& their friends) know how to throw a party
la grocery & cafe’s birthday party - celebrating their one year anni on june 7, parking lot style with birthday cake (!), oysters (!!) etc.
